Congratulations go out to Soldiers Angels for being selected
as the CommuniCause $25,000 social media make over winner! |
| 10 AUG 2009 We are
thrilled and excited to announce we now have over 311,000
members from 89 countries & territories from around the
world, supporting our U.S. deployed troops. All made
possible because of extraordinary caring individuals, such
as yourselves. THANK YOU!
|
| 31 JUL 2009 AAUSS entered
the CommuniCause contest to win a $25,000 social media
makeover on July 27th. AAUSS was listed 812th among
other well deserving charities and organizations. With the
outstanding support and help of our members, friends,
visitors and folks who care for our troops and believe in
the wonderful work Adopt A US Soldier does, we ran up the
ranks to 5th place...in less than 24 hours! In another
amazing feat of voting AAUSS had made it to 3rd place. We
slipped back to 5th place when voting closed on 31 July. But
that is OK! The winner of the $25k social media makeover
will be selected from those outstanding organizations and
charities who held spots 1- 10.
AAUSS has been advised that a winner will be selected
"mid-August". So keep those thoughts and prayers coming. We
have an excellent chance and we could not have done it
without the incredible support received by all of you. So we
THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. As soon as
the winner has been announced, we'll post straight away!

MAR 2009
Over a weekend in March,
Satin, and AAUSS volunteer, attended a BBQ put on by an
organization based out of Martin County Florida called
SaluteUS. An amazing organization. Their mission is to
compile all the information a veteran would need into one
centralized location and have it for them at their
disposal... if and when they need it. Satin can't say
enough good things about this organization. They are
helping people who have served, or who are currently
serving, with housing needs, clothing, financial assistance,
mental health, physical health and are helping to provide a
connection with loved ones back home, whether it is to make
sure the grass is cut or the refrigerator gets fixed.
Please visit their website and check out what they are all
about. They can be found at
www.saluteus.org
and if you are a service member or a veteran please feel
free to contact them at
homefront@saluteus.org.
